A Message from the College Counseling Office (CCO)

College Roundtable and Practice Testing Opportunities

December 17, 2024

Dear Class of 2026 and 2027 (Junior / Sophomore) Parents/Guardians.

As we head into Winter Break, we thought it best to remind you about some upcoming events so that you can save the dates on your new year’s calendar!

College Roundtable
The CCO will host our next College Roundtable on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025 from 4-5 PM. In recognition of busy schedules, this is a fully virtual event so you are welcome to join us from the comfort of your home or work. There is no formal agenda for this event, rather, your questions will drive the conversation! We warmly welcome you to tune in using this link and let us know what’s on your mind!

Practice Testing opportunities
Back by popular demand, the CCO has coordinated practice testing opportunities for both the ACT and SAT. These opportunities will be fully digital and free of charge. D-E students are able to participate in these helpful opportunities using their own computers from home. We strongly encourage students to sit for a “mock” version of each exam, followed by a diagnostic review to identify areas of needed attention. Taking these practice tests is an ideal way for students to preview what’s ahead and to provide the opportunity to reflect on which test they will pursue in preparation for their college application process.

Compass Prep
SAT- students can test anytime during this window:
Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025 at 1:00 AM EST through Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025 at 11:00 PM EST.

Revolution Prep
Online Practice ACT, Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025. 9 AM
Online Practice ACT, Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025. 9 AM

While the exam is live-proctored via zoom, the ACT exam itself is still a paper and pencil exam.  Revolution Prep will be emailing a link to the text booklet and blank answer sheets directly to students who are registered two days before the exam. You can print the test booklet and answer sheet prior to the exam, or you can view the exam by PDF on their computer. Printing the answer sheets is strongly recommended.

If students qualify for accommodations, they must reach out to Sue Hmelovsky (contact information below) in advance to get their instructions. Either way, all students need to register for the exam first, in order to get a username and password, needed to take the exam. If you have any other questions about mock testing opportunities please contact Ms.Toran at torant@d-e.org

If you have questions or want to learn more about Revolution Prep, you can reach out to Sue Hmelovsky at (973) 616-6158 or by email at sue.hmelovsky@revolutionprep.com
